Raising a Puppy in Springfield, Missouri
Springfield is the heart of the Ozarks, with neighborhoods like Rountree, Phelps Grove, and Midtown full of older homes and tree-lined streets near Missouri State University. Historic Commercial Street has a revived, walkable feel, and the south side and Galloway area offer newer homes and subdivisions with fenced backyards.
Phelps Grove Park is a neighborhood favorite for an evening walk, and Sequiota Park in Galloway sits beside a spring-fed pond. Jordan Valley Park downtown gives city residents open green space, and the Galloway Creek Greenway offers a paved route for longer outings. Springfield summers are humid enough that a new pup should walk at dawn and nap through the afternoon. Chiggers lurk in unmowed grass around town, so stick to trimmed paths. Ozark ice storms can glaze sidewalks and streets in winter, and salt on the roads can sting, so wipe your puppy's paws after outings and keep a sweater handy for tiny breeds.
Our most requested breeds are the Toy Poodle, Maltipoo, Cavapoo, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Yorkie Poo, Mini Aussie, and Mini Goldendoodle. Most of these are non shedding, hypoallergenic breeds, perfect for a stroll through Nathanael Greene Park in Springfield. Looking for something bigger? We offer medium and large breeds too, like the Goldendoodle, Bernedoodle, Aussiedoodle, Australian Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Labrador, Husky, and Cane Corso, everything from a family favorite to a serious guard dog. If you have a different breed in mind, just ask. We have over 200 breeds available.
As an added bonus, you also get one month of FREE pet insurance, valued up to $100. Shop and compare plans through Pawlicy right here on our site, pick the one you like, and just show us your paid first month bill, we'll cover it up to $100. Or, if you'd rather, we'll take $100 off your puppy's price or send you a $100 gift card. It's your choice. And if you live too far to use our Huntington Station vet, we'll refer you to one of our veterinarians right in your area, one who offers a 5 Year FREE Vet Package to our local customers nearby, and we're always looking for more veterinarians near you to offer that same package.
When your puppy is ready, it travels in climate controlled comfort, safe, clean, and stress free, hand delivered through a professional third party White Glove transport service, never shipped as cargo, usually within days. Call us at (800) 879-1995 or text (631) 827-3761 and let's find your puppy today.
