About Shorkie Puppies

Why Families Love Shorkie Puppies

The Shorkie is a wonderful cross between the Shih Tzu and the Yorkshire Terrier, creating a tiny, hypoallergenic companion with a personality that far exceeds its small stature. These designer puppies combine the Shih Tzu's gentle, regal nature with the Yorkshire Terrier's spunky, fearless spirit, resulting in a breed that is both cuddly and entertaining. Shorkies are known for their loyalty, affection, and their remarkable ability to form deep bonds with their owners. They are wonderful lap dogs that also have a playful, adventurous side, keeping their families entertained with their antics while always being ready for a snuggle session. Their sweet, loving nature makes them ideal companions for individuals, couples, and families with older children.

Tiny, Hypoallergenic & Full of Spirit

One of the Shorkie's most appealing qualities is its hypoallergenic, low-shedding coat, inherited from both the Shih Tzu and the Yorkshire Terrier, two breeds renowned for their allergy-friendly coats. This makes the Shorkie an excellent choice for families and individuals who suffer from allergies but still want a beautiful, fluffy companion. Their silky coats come in a variety of stunning colors including black, tan, gold, brown, and combinations thereof. Typically weighing between 5 and 12 pounds, Shorkies are perfectly sized for apartment living and are wonderful travel companions. They are alert and make surprisingly good watchdogs for their size, always ready to alert you to visitors while remaining gentle and friendly once introduced.
