About Basset Hound Puppies

Droopy Ears and a Heart of Gold

The Basset Hound is one of the most endearing and recognizable breeds in the world, instantly identified by their long, droopy ears, soulful sad eyes, and low-slung, sturdy build. But do not let those melancholy eyes fool you, Basset Hounds are among the most gentle, good-natured, and friendly dogs you will ever meet. Originally bred in France as a scent hound, the Basset Hound possesses a nose second only to the Bloodhound in tracking ability. Their calm, laid-back demeanor indoors belies their tenacious determination when following a scent outdoors.

A Nose Second Only to the Bloodhound

Basset Hounds are loyal family dogs who get along wonderfully with children, other dogs, and even cats. Their patient, easygoing temperament makes them ideal for families seeking a low-energy indoor companion who still enjoys leisurely walks and outdoor exploration. They love to follow scents, so a secure yard is always a plus. Their deep, melodious bark and charming personality have made them beloved companions for generations, and their devotion to their families knows no bounds.
